Wow!!! Here we go!

The Governor has begun to partially open the state.
We are in unchartered waters with COVID-19.  As we do not want the club to be the cause of any spread of the virus, we will err on the side of caution.

Taos Tennis will open Saturday, May 16, and will follow the State Guidelines.

Pro Shop
Most days the pro shop will be open from 8:00 until 1:00.
The phone number is 575-776-2585.

PICKLEBALL
We are in a quandary as to the State Regulations on spatial distancing as they relate to pickleball.  David Lockhart sent out pickleball guidelines and it seems they have not been followed.  It is necessary to maintain spatial distancing, use hand sanitizer, and not touch your face.

Let’s all enjoy the summer…. and do it safely…courts are open!

  • Your assistance and cooperation in these efforts will be appreciated.

Pickleball Promotion

  • Kurt’s intent was to become certified in pickleball instruction with the hope to promote the sport in Taos. This has been delayed due to the virus restrictions.
  • Again, please be patient!

POOL
At this time, the aquatic area will not be open.  Information on pool memberships will be shared as the information becomes available.
Following is a forwarded message from the State of New Mexico aquatic program manager: (May 14, 2020)

Unfortunately, I do not have an answer as to when aquatic facilities will be allowed to reopen or what, if any, restrictions will be placed on them when they can reopen. At this time, it is anticipated that inspections will resume once the Public Health Order releases recreational facilities to resume operations.

We will likely not have any other information until near or at the expiration of the current Public Health Order issued by the Department of Health.

The best way to find information on aquatic facilities would be to watch our website for updates.
https://www.env.nm.gov/pools/pools-program/

This is all dependent on the Public Health Order and what types of operations are going to be allowed under it, and at this time recreational facilities like a swimming pool are ordered to be closed.

For All Members

  • All membership dates are now effective May 1, 2020 through April 30, 2021.
  • Memberships will need to be renewed after April 30, 2021 to play tennis &/or pickleball.
  • This gives everyone one month (April 2021) free.

Limiting programs will keep our members safe and healthy.
All programs (tennis, pickleball, pool) will expand as the State restrictions allow.

We are looking forward to a fun, safe summer.
Stay well.
See you on the courts!

Let’s all be part of the solution, not the problem!

Sincerely,
Kurt and the Taos Tennis Staff
