Taos Tennis

February, 2021

Happy New Year to all members, condo owners, and friends of Taos Tennis! We made it through 2020.   The ski area is open, which is quite an achievement this year.  Thanks to all the ski area staff for making that happen.
While no one knows what 2021 will bring, a few things are for sure.  Taos Tennis and the Quail Ridge Resort will continue to be owned and run by Kurt Edelbrock.  Negotiations for any sale have been terminated.
The fundamental design of all programs (tennis, pickle ball, swimming, and junior programs) will continue to be ruled by state COVID guidelines, whatever that may be.  Our 2020 winter newsletter emphasized many positive aspects of last summer and fall programs.  I am hoping to achieve similar successes this year and expand on them.  Depending on the availability of tennis court contractors and pool builders, we hope to rectify issues in both areas as soon as possible.
All of last year’s staff members have responded enthusiastically to returning for another season and I hope to include a few special guests.  Our big July tournament is already on the USTA July sanctioning schedule.  Other events will be planned as soon as safety decrees it.
The 2020 season memberships end March 31, 2021.  The 2021 season begins April 1, 2021.  To avoid any confusion, it would be appreciated if you purchase your 2021 membership when you intend to come out and play.  You can always drop your completed form with your check in the drop slot in the resort check-in double doors, which face the mountain.  There will be no membership rate increases for the 2021 season.  Our 2021 Membership Form is attached.
It is my hope that all of you are doing well and staying covidly safe.  Looking forward to the upcoming season, and seeing all of you soon.  I will continue to try to keep two tennis and two pickle ball courts available depending on the weather.
Best wishes to all,
Kurt and the Taos Tennis Staff
